As part of a wider package which includes staff support, well- being assessment for ‘at-risk’ individuals and teams, AngliaTherapy offers training to professionals who may need to assess and care for vulnerable people. These professionals may be in need of enhanced communication skills, the recognition of their own transferable skills and the addition of specific tools to reflect the particular needs of their client group.
This training introduces and builds on reflective practice, self-evaluation abilities and self-reliance. Participants are expected to understand concepts such as ‘emotional stablility’, self conceptualisation and, to be able to engage in personal challenge with the help of their working colleagues.
These professionals include National Probation officers, Immigration officers, therapists working with trauma and critical incident.
Any organisation wishing to facilitate change need to equip their employees with robust techniques grounded in assertive behaviour and self-evaluation. Professional integrity can only come about through the acceptance of respect, for the individual and the team.
PICT training:
As an established trainer for Parks Therapy I am pleased to say that there have been some exciting changes to the training. Now seen as a continuing professional development, the PICT training runs over nine months where each module examines and experiences the PICT sequential step model.
Prospective students are required to have a prior accreditation with a professional body and to have access to a client base.
Having completed the initial training and, on completion of a case study to reflect their learning, it is then possible to join the advanced group of therapists able to deliver PICT Quick Change. QC is an intensive model of therapy requiring dedication and commitment from both the therapist and client.
This type of Quick Change therapy is ideal for those clients accessing therapy from abroad or those wanting to complete a condensed treatment programme in a vacation. It is perfect for those unable to access therapy on a weekly basis, or, not living in an area where a qualified PT therapist is available. See PPF website for more info
